Now that the Vulkan support for macOS is out how does it compare on your systems?
Just knew it supports Vulkan now as I haven’t played for a long time because of this issue.. will try to use vulkan and see how it is now.
Hi,
I just unboxed my second MBP (late-2016 / i7-6700HQ / 16GB RAM / Radeon Pro 450) yesterday, since I returned the other one as DOA (exat same specs) when DOTA 2 wasn't playable at all.
The fps is very unstable causing freezes and very poor performance, making it almost impossible to play.
I've tried all available resolutions based off of different scaling in the display settings without any luck, from basic to best looking details in dota. It's all the same on the SECOND computer in a couple of days. I've also tried to only allow high performance graphics (energy saving option to only use the dedicated GPU), which made it a little better (in terms of FPS), but still unplayable. When running on dedicated GPU only also caused DOTA 2 to crash as soon as the first enemy team creeps would become visible in a bot game.
Just to make sure it wasn't the computer, I also tried installing CS:GO, Rocket League and Stardew Valley and all of them works perfectly great - CS:GO even gave me around 200 fps in medium/low settings. (All in mac native mode, not via bootcamp)
Any ideas of how to make the only game I'm really interested in having to work on my MBP, to work?
