Steps for reproducing this issue:

1. I cannot shift+tab while in dota2
2. I can't make in game purchases
3. I can't add friends in dota2, so I have to go open steam and add friend from steam, not in Dota2.

This is likely a Steam issue and not a Dota issue, you may not get a lot of status here.

well but still can;t you suggest something that at least i can do to be able to overlay ?

Other than the basics -- make sure it's enabled in for Dota in Steam and that it works in other games -- it's hard to say how to make it work again since we don't have information on why it isn't working on your system. Somebody from Steam will need to investigate.

oh alright... right before the steam update (the chat beta) i was still able to overlay w/o any probs... but right after the update i can't.. i can't even add friends while in dota2... my overlay setting is enabled while in-game....

i have other problem with shift. When i press the key, this stay on in the game. Can any help me?
