Game begins launching and running and then suddenly stops, also says invalid app configuration #1879

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Whenever I try to play the game it starts launching, then running and then it stops, I have tried changing the launch options they are now set to auto configure I even tried dx11 still no dice, I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the game and sometimes this message pops up that says invalid app configuration. Which is odd cos I have had the files configurated

Steps for reproducing this issue:

I have no idea how to reproduce the issue.

I have same problem on Linux Ubuntu.

Same problem in MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6
