Description

This started within the past two weeks as I played before that and had no issues. I've not dared to try this in a live game, but I've gotten it to happen in demo mode, a solo bot match, and both a locally hosted and valve hosted private lobby. I've reset all of my dota 2 settings, removed all my launch parameters, verified game file integrity, and toggled network quality (as recommended to by a friend). I have not been able to isolate anything in particular about the crashes. Let me know if there is anything I can provide to help debug. I've primarily had it either upon loading into the map within about 1 minute of doing so, sometimes immediately. I just had an instance at 14 minutes.

This did not occur in a live match - I was primarily, consistently, getting this to appear with vengeful for some reason and I specifically picked it in a live match with no issues.

This just occurred twice in a row while loading into a live matchmaking game just now with a party. Same exact error but it was immediately after the game started to load me into the drafting menu. I got a matchmaking penalty for this. Since verifying and resetting everything due to this problem previously, I've not changed anything.

something from doing a full reinstall + wiping steam cloud data and reinstall/updating all drivers seems to have fixed the issue.

Found a solution here btw.

-Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata[your Steam ID]\570\local\cfg. -Delete machine_convars.vcfg

convars which one do i remove ?

@tweets01 try to delete machine_convars.cfg inside:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata[your Steam ID]\570\local\cfg. this directory only. If it doesn't work, delete all the existing machine_convars.cfg in every directory (of DOTA ofcourse) as it will generate as you login and proceed through the game. Should pass by then.
