Speaker Configuration list is broken after The Summer Client Update

Settings > Audio > Speaker Configuration dropdown list now only has 'Default' as an option. Gone are '7.1 surround', 'headphones' and other settings.

I fixed the problem by manually edit this file: machine_convars.vcfg located C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dota 2 beta\game\dota\cfg folder . open with Notepad scroll down and change the line Speaker_configuration from "2" to "5" or "7" for 7.1 Speakers system ( 2:stereo, 1:hphones, -1:def ).

We shouldn't fix something manually when the actual proper fix is trivial and will take just 20 minutes of time.

They hidden it again, there is no more machine_convars.vcfg ... although, my game (with latest update) kept correct setting until i reinstalled it.

Lost all the speaker configs and i can't select the default.

Almost a year later, and this issue is still Open. Speaker configuration is empty, and sound is playing in stereo instead of 5.1

I looked at the console commands, and found that there is a speaker_config command.

I tried speaker_config 6 and it seems to work, but some sounds, such as attacks, can't be heard. Reverting to default can be done with speaker_config -1, or 1. im not sure which one. Anyone else have better luck with this?

Speaker configuration -1 :default 1 :head phones 2 :stereo 5 : 5.1 speakers system 7: 7.1 speaker system if u set it as -1 default that going to use windows configuration which is going to be 5.1 also check your windows speaker config, or 2 for Stereo.
