Dota2 freezes after loading #11954

Description

When I launch the game, it plays intro video, the main screen starts to load and in about 1 second it freezes. Sometimes even during the intro video and the main page does not load at all. Nothing can be done. The issue continues since the summer client update.

Here are my PC spec for reference

I'm experiencing the same issue, and I've tried reinstalling the system. The problem has persisted since the client update in the summer.

There's many of us, experiencing this problem. We'd really appreciate some form of feedback from the devs. At this point it's been so long that I don't even know if I should wait for a fix or just uninstall until I get a new laptop or something.

I was running Dota with high details on 70fps prior to the patch, lenovo laptop. Tried all suggestions I had found online. Seems like RAM utilisation spikes while launching.

First of all use @chris titus "winutil" here on github. Next go to youtube search fr33shy follow his optimize guide. Now go launchconfig : con_enable 1 -high -map dota fps_max "monitor-HZ" -novr/nowr. Turn of ffxa or use low. Only use startup like antivirus/not win defender. A tips for game pc "eset internet security" ask all its better and faster than everyone else. intellegent memory list . Turn off C-States in bios, goto MSCONFIG and use all cpu cores at left corner

Have your clocked your ram? Turn off power saveing modes. Dont play on wifi

The issue has changed for me in the meantime. It was impossible to start the game with the Anti-Mage persona animation on the main screen. I'm able to function in the "lobby" ever since the next patch removed this animation (which happened with the introduction of the compendium).

However, now the game goes black and freezes immediatelly after entering the pick screen with 0 chance of actually reconnecting or playing the game. Eventually resulting in an abandon.

I have no idea what to do, especially since the issue keeps changing with new updates.

i solved it by updating my graphics driver
