Game crashing repeatedly on MacOS Sonoma 14.0

Description

On the most recent Dota update the game is crashing repeatedly (in 100% of games so far) on Mac OS Sonoma.

The crash seems to coincide with spells usage, particularly it seemed to happen during usage of Thundergod's wrath, but also happened at other times so could be coincidental.

System Information

Device: M1 Max MacBook Pro 64GB. OS Version: Sonoma 14.0

Game 1

Hero: Nature's Prophet Game ID: 7360229405 Timestamps:

• ~11.30
• ~18.08, exactly with a Thundergod's Wrath cast
• ~21.40
• 28.20, again Thundergod's Wrath

Game 2

Hero: Phatom Assassin Game ID: 7360163133 Timestamps:

• 28:20, game crashed while on hill, last thing I saw was clicking to go in as Techies used the big ground AOE spell.

Additional Info

• The game did appear to stutter on 2-3 occasions during these games but recover
• Turning off the new "Game Mode" on Sonoma after the 18.08 crash lead to the shortest time to another crash at 21.40 in the NP game
• The device was not overheating or stressed, fans were not audible

This looks like a potentially similar issue: #12299

This is not limited to fullscreen scenarios. I play on macOS in windowed mode on an MBA M1 device. Since upgrading to the GA build of macOS Sonoma, I get random client crashes citing "macos pc register does not match crashing frame".

I'll save the crash log next time it happens

I have the same issue. Also running it on a Mac. Game crashes several times per game. Always when I am clicking or casting spells

I also faced this issue on the arcade (12vs12). Phoenix is one hero that you can reproduce this issue

the game literally crashes once every 5-10 minute

update: I had this issue since compendium release happening each game but for the past two days it didn't occur so it seems to be fixed

Reinstalled dota and upgraded to macos somona. Played around 5 games last night, seems good so far. Any of y'all reinstalled the game ?

Is this still happening? I want to upgrade my m1 air to somona but I'm worried about dota as it's the only game I play.

Does the game run fine now?

P.S I did have a lot of crashes couple days ago like 1-2 times during game and I'm on Ventura. But that seems to be fixed now.

I am having issues with lights and shadows since I upgraded to Sonoma 14.0. My Mac has an Intel chip. Other players reporting the same issue as well.

@dyzdyz010 I turned the graphics all the way down. Pre update I was running everything on high and getting around 100-120 FPS consistently, now I'm on the lowest and sit on around 80-100 FPS. I also changed to borderless window, no idea if that had any effect.

Hey! anton , just a quick word brother it got fixed just go and update your mac os version to the latest beta version which is sequoia It will be fixed , Good Luck!
