Region locks missing #13857

Just read the recent negative reviews of the game. It's nice that cheaters were banhammered by honeypot anti-cheat mechanism, but still the same people make the game not fun by speaking languages other than English on English-speaking servers. When I limit my experience to "EU West" servers, I want to play with people who speak European languages, even if it means waiting more for matchmaking. Lots of paying customers have the same notion on this.

But that would make the russian speakers unhappy. Volvo needs to cater to ruskies.

I didn't say anything about any specific language or nation. It is, however, up to the player, who he or she wants to play with. Either the matchmaking system allows specifying what languages he or she knows and filter out players that can't communicate nor cooperate with him or her, or players will become tired of playing at all. This game is mostly about team coordination and fluent communication is crucial. It would probably suffice to mark servers like "English-Only", "Russian-Only", "EN/RU", etc. and let the players pick which servers they want to join, and punishing heavily for breaking the server rules (can be automated). A preference might be included, e.g. I would prefer "PL" server than "EN", but can play any of those if that means shorter queue.

Yeah. I didn't either. What you're suggesting would also annoy the ruski population.
