Clarification on Revenant's Brooch Mechanism #14980

Open yuriihalas opened 8 months ago

Item name

Revenant's brooch

Description

The item "Revenant's Brooch" is specified to deal magical damage, yet it currently exhibits a miss chance for magical attacks. Unlike traditional magical spells in Dota 2, which generally have true strike, Revenant's Brooch seems to deviate from this norm.

I'm seeking clarification on whether this is intentional or if there's room for consideration. If there's a specific design choice behind introducing a miss chance for magical attacks with this item, could you please provide insight?

Alternatively, I would like to suggest considering the addition of true strike specifically to Revenant's Brooch. This adjustment could enhance the item's usability and consistency, especially considering that other magical abilities in Dota 2 don't suffer from miss chances.

I appreciate your time and attention to this matter. Thank you for your ongoing efforts to improve and balance Dota 2.

Muerta's ult works similarly but doesn't grant true strike. Mind breaker adds magic damage to attacks but doesn't grant true strike. Dealing magic damage with an attack doesn't mean it needs to have true strike.

Before 7.35, Revenant's Brooch gave true strike. This was removed with the 7.35 rework to the item. It was bugged for a little while to still give true strike, but this was fixed, which implies that it's not intended to give true strike.
