NZ/AUS Servers having 95% out packet loss #16258

Description

When I queue for a game from NZ in the AUS server since last night, I have been experiencing 95% out packet loss, although the ping and fps remain fine. ~200 FPS, ~45 Ping, Packet Loss In/Out : 0 / 95. I can see everything happening, but my input is delayed by 10-15 seconds. My hero just stands there and dies.

This is happening to others queuing from NZ as well. Makes the game unplayable for anyone from NZ. Please Fix ASAP. Reddit Link describing this issue : https://www.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/1bvhnr3/nzaus_server_super_lagging/

Tested lobby game on SEA server and I get the same out packet loss. Is there something wrong with Steam NZ network?

Its happening with AUS but with myself trying to fix it now i am punished to win 3 single draft games in low prio

It is happening again. 10-20% packet loss in. Missing commands and makes it unplayable.

Does this only affect NZ players this is so shit. Cmon DO SOMETHING FFS. do you just want to abandon all NZ players?

Note that US West does not have this issue, higher ping, but no packet loss. Only happens on AUS/SEA server. Is this some stupid DNS issue that only affects NZ?

It started again. Fucking fix it please. 94% out packet loss AUS server from NZ.

Queued tonight from australia to aus servers.

6 ms 70% packet loss. Unplayable 3 matches

Intermittently spiking to 70%+ packet loss each game, and most other players in game also encounter it (but rarely all).

Surprised they haven deleted this post yet, they deleted mine about the same problem (Aus trying to play on Aus servers)

Same issue from NZ. Queued SEA on 140 ping no packet loss issue, only happens on AUS server.

AUS here to 50-70% packet loss has anyone found any posts or anything about it? seems its all dark nothing to investigate

Supposedly this might help (enter into the console. have to do it everytime you boot)

net_option SDRClient_ForceRelayCluster sgp

Haven't tried myself yet as i dont have the patience to play another game at 70%+ packetloss

Using mudfish vpn seems to solve it. But paying for a third party service to play the game isn't really a good soloution

The game has become unplayable the past couple months, have to drop it at this point till it's fixed but I won't hold my breath as valve never respond.

It was fine today, no packet loss for AUS server. But It seems to come and go. Every day I need to queue lobby and check for 15 mins to verify if there is the 90% packet loss or not before queuing for a real game.

"net_option SDRClient_ForceRelayCluster sgp" does seem to fix packet loss, but the ping becomes unplayable for me 45 to 279 by enabling that option.

I heard elsewhere as well that a VPN seems to fix it with small penalty on ping which seems to be the best option, if you want to pay for it.

It seems to be fixed for me now with no ping loss. I did use the "net_option......" console command as mentioned above but this did not resolve it immediately so i suspect there has been a patch to remedy this. Hopefully we are stable going forward.

It started again, 88-90% packet loss. game is unplayable. Can someone fix or at least acknowledge this? most of NZ and some of AUS region is affected.

Queued in the Japan server to avoid packetloss, the entire game we had 10% packetloss still occurring (alongside the higher ping)

In cs2, we don't have Choice but automatically selected the Australian server for casual play....if Valve not going to fix the network issue, maybe they can add regional select features
