Dota 2 stoped reading my remapped keyboard after Crownfall update. #16522

I'm using software called KeyTweak to remapped my Left Windows key to Left Ctrl. After the Crownfall update, Dota 2 doesn't read my remapped keyboard anymore.

Same problem. I switched the CAPSLOCK and Left CTRL in windows registry. After the Crownfall update, Dota 2 doesn't read my CAPSLOCK key hit anymore. It's annoying!

Same, trying to play with an apple keyboard without remapped keys is a mess - previously remapped the left "command" key to alt which made it comfortable.

In redit thread someone advised using Powertoy software to remap keys. It worked for me. Previously I was using SharpKeys.

Self casting the tp to base does not work with the remapped key, it does work with the non-remapped alt

All my fucking keyboard doesnt work when switching languages in dota. I can write something in chat but then Enter doesn't work so I cant send it and cant use fucking spells. Need to exit the game....

Found a Solution !

You have to use "Virtual Key Codes" instead of "Scan codes" most modern rebind programs should support this if not you have to program it yourself chat gpt can do that (worked for me)

Same issues here. I'm using my mac keyboard on windows and using KeyTweak to switch the Cmd and Alt buttons so they're in the 'correct' place. The rebound alt-key isn't being recognised. I'll try out the fixes mentioned here 👍

Update: Using Powertoy software to remap keys works perfect!

It appears that all keyboard key remaps done with SharpKeys (which is a registry entry under the hood) no longer work. Please fix this! Every other game works fine.

@ts3004 Can u give a case here ? I tried ai but got nothin help, and can't search any virtual key code soft :(

powertoys says its keyboard manager will impact game's FPS, I don't know how much it will impact.
