3 months ago Closing the issue. Absolutely no idea of the cause of this, and tried everything to fix it (drivers, fixing and revalidating game files, meddling with settings, trying launch options, etc.).
As nothing had changed on my rig in the meantime, I figured this was a valve/steam issue somehow. Only reinstalling Steam helped.
P.s. feels like there's an increasing amount of games being cancelled in the accept match phase. Hope this is a known error that Valve is already looking into. Reinstalling steam fully as a fix is a little bit troublesome, but hope that helps anyone who encounters the issue in the meantime.
Description
Dota2 client opens normally to the home screen, but whenever attempting to join a game through matchmaking or by demoing a hero, the client crashes without any error messages. MM failure also causes a ban period automatically.
Worked normally until 8.5.2024 without any changes to the settings.
Fix attemps: reinstalling dota, validating game files, starting dota through steam & desktop icon & Nvidia panel, using launch options -autoconfic & -safe. To no avail.
Rig specs: Nvidia RTX4080, i7, 32gbRAM...
