i already play on boderless and i have a huge lag input, its unplayable i saw that some months ago some people were having this problem idk if it ever got fixed
Same thing here. Happens after alt tab, or just sometimes randomly it completely bugs out. Stutter and lag even though ping/loss/fps seems fine.
I'm suspecting it has to do with the new game recording feature. I have it disabled but it still constantly tracks game events as seen in the post game "recording." Said recording is just a black screen with a bunch of timestamps.

hmm, where do i disabled it? did it got add in this update? or the previous one?

I think it came out previous patch but I never saw any post game recordings show up on the game launch page in steam until this new patch.

yea i dont have this option, but thx this could be a fix for some people
Same problem. Tried: 1) use console-command: cl_clock_recvmargin_enable (didn't help); 2) Delete-inslall game (didn't help).
P.S. my console looks like author's console.
Don't know if it help i have strong input lag since c-patch. the option +cl_clock_recvmargin_enable 0 is in my launch options from the input lag dilemma before.
it happens very reliable when i play silencer and iam using W immediately followed by trying to use an item (like stick)
the input for the item rarely goes through when spamming the W
last match where it was noticeable a lot is: 7830707933
i don't know if it helps but i hope you can see more

yea i have this option on my launch aswell but it didnt help i know that earlier this year a lot of people were having this problem and a later patch fixed it
hopefuly we get attention to this to get it fixed
Input lag can easily be recreated simply by alt-tabbing. Every time Valve pushes a new update, it seems they break more things. For instance, currently, the minimap (alt+click pings) has significantly lower FPS, feeling like it averages around 30 FPS or even lower. Since patch 7.35, FPS has noticeably decreased, causing the game to constantly stutter. Random FPS drops occur at the start of every match.
Currently, the only solutions for the input delay is to continuously right-click quickly for a few seconds or quickly disconnect and reconnect, both of which should resolve the issue.
Also if anyone here clever enough to decipher the new console commands Valve added in the latest Act 3 patch? I haven't tested all of them yet, so some might have a significant impact on the game. In the brackets "[ ]" you'll find my default client value (yours might be different).

this is good information thx for bringing this up, hopefully they do something about it earlier this year the same issue happened and i wasnt affected, idk why its happening again now
also experienced some lag today, i think it was because of packet loss. It rarely happened before crownfall act 3, but today i had it in multiple games: 7840430694 - tiny, 7840275356 and 7840295672 - custom lobbies

when u reconnect does it solve the problem for the whole match? or do u need to keep reconnecting during the game?
So many topics with issues, they never see this one...

is there other topics with this ssame issue? could u link them? i think its important to keep bumping then to try and take their attention to the problem, also would like to see if any of these posts got an answer already

Created 1 more topic about this problem.
I also had this issue when alt tabbing back into Dota. It would last for 10 seconds. Not sure if it'll help anyone but I just swapped from Exclusive Fullscreen to Borderless Window and no longer have input lag.

it helps a little for some people, but the majority this dosent fix
Crownfall act 3 seems to have almost fixed a very long outstanding bug reported here https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Dota2-Gameplay/issues/17942
It also seems to have fixed intermittent crashes (linux). Now after a random freeze (1/2 sec) the game continues with the reported input lag (previosuly it used to crash after the freeze).
If cq stands for command queue then the following seem interesting:
cl_cq_min_queue [0] cq_buffer_bloat_msecs_max [150] cq_discarded_command_ticks [1] cq_starved_command_ticks [1]
Command queueing could be a new feature or fix that got added. The lag does feel like a command queueing side effect. The first command gets queued/delayed and all subsequent command get buffered behind it. If that is indeed the case then idling should drain the queue. How does one change/observe these settings during the game?
when u reconnect does it solve the problem for the whole match? or do u need to keep reconnecting during the game?
For me sometimes reconnect doesnt even solve, or maybe it comes back very fast. Happens multiple times during the game.
Same Issue
shit this takes a long time but it was playable now it's not

this not connecting bug used to not be a problem if u just connect into a lobby first and then search for a match, at least for me

i dont understand this part, u think these comands on the launch option could solve it?

I dont know, just a hunch that they added a new feature which could be related to the input lag.
i see, it would be good if they at least said something back to us, but nothing until now
ive got it too Playing on 200 fps, or 144 with VSync, but it looks like 40-60. Im trying to use another PC, but it didnt help.
My specs: ryzen 5600, rtx 3060, ddr4 32gb

valve definitly broke something in the last patch a lot of users with good pc/fps are having this problem and it feels unplaybale hopefully they try somethign to fix it

This started for me more than 2-3 months ago :(
Many say that this is an error on the side of the valve servers, but then why does this problem not occur to everyone. It is unlikely that servers work differently for different PC configurations. As I understand it, this problem should depend on the PC configuration or some local settings.

I think the same. I tested on the same PC (ryzen 5600 + 3060), and its laggy too

valve still needs to clarify it, it only started lagging after act 3 droped so its definitly something on their end also the same problem happened earlier this year (february i think) and they fixed it with a patch if i remember correctly
Has anyone checked the live replays? I cannot watch more than a few min before the replay abruptly ends. I think its related to the lag because when im playing everytime there is a small freeze, it runs into the lag issue, the same kind of freezes happen in replays before it crashes.
Defnitely started after act 3 update.

yes live replays, lag when entering a game, input lag all issues started after act 3 and still no answer from valve
I've tried using Vulkan and it's definitely much better than dx11 at the moment.

it helps but the major problem remain the thing is this helps to some people but the majority needs a fix cause the game is just unplayable but thanks for sharing, this can help some people
i just loaded a lobby on a new account and got 0 input lag, i think this may help with how the issue can be fixed
I keep getting 1-3 second input lag at the start of some games. Sometimes it goes away on its own, sometimes it stays.
reconnect to game and it does nothing restart game and it does nothing restart PC and it does nothing
Only thing that helped was to restart router, then I had no more lag when reconnecting.
The problem is that takes several minutes, so I got banned from MM for 1 hour.
Great update Valve.......

its annoying that valve hasnt even said anything about it its like they dont even know the problem exist all we can do is report on steam and keep creating posts here on github
Can confirm using windowed mode did not help in my case. My console looks like this. I'm using vulkan btw.
Still happening when I alt-tab back to the game after 10 seconds. Changing the display mode and disabling anti-lag did not help at all.
we need to know if valve is aware of this, its really annoying that all of a sudenly so many people are unable to play the game

Seems to be we need to raise more issues...
i have the same problem with "input lag" aka packet loss after ACT 3, but in fact there is no any packet loss, just instant 34 input lag delay with no reason which is super insane annoying and unplayble.. Also, i'm using "window with borderless", since full screen is broken for years.
Had a few days of normal games. And now it happened again. Input lag only went away when I restarted my router, and that took 7 minutes
So now I'm banned from MM and in Low Prio... again....
Valve, pls fix
I'm having issues with dota after act 3 as well. It happens especially when the game is minimized, it takes few seconds to get back to normal.
I get several "... X jobs could not be completed in Y time .." modal alerts in the past few days. Needless to mention but dota goes into a zombie state after that i.e. it doesnt crash but it doesnt respond to any input either. Had to restart the computer once to reset.
Also, when you go to the disconnect page and the background has some animated stuff (say an emoticon on the profile page or anything), their animation speed goes from very slow (at the start) to ultra fast before the action is taken. Its as if the animation controller first piles up a huge queue of events and then flushes all of them, trying to catchup.
Based on programming experience, all these issues and the lag feel similar to say if the timescheduler code broke in an app, maybe someone bumped down the priority of the scheduler threads from critical to normal, and on slower computers it starts to starve for cpu cycles.
here for roll call. you are not alone guys.
very annoying, very frustrating. i have been playing dota from 2014, first time this happened to me. i have done all the suggested tasks, you name it. but still having lag every single game. Please for the love of the God. this is my only entertainment. don't take away this from me.
i just wish valve would at least say they are working on it, but no answer its like they dont even care
LMAO, even approx every streamer on twitch has that input lag (i saw number like 40-50, lol) and for some reason they're ignoring that fact idk why.
I have instant input delay lag which is unplayeble for me :\, reconnect \ windows mode and etc, doesn't help me any how. @valvesoftware please finally fix it.
this happens to me every single time i ALT+TAB, DotA needs to like catch up for 3-10 seconds and i get a huge delay until then.
