Seasonal MMR Reset #19952

Description

As Team Spirit suggested it is time to radically overhaul the MMR system in Dota 2 and matchmaking after 11 years. https://hawk.live/posts/team-spirit-suggested-that-valve-radically-overhaul-the-mmr-system-in-dota-2

  1. Resetting MMR will revive Dota 2, as players will be climbing ranked again every season. Almost all other competitive games have seasonal reset except Dota 2.
  2. Resetting MMR will dissuade all boosters and account buyers because their work/ money spent would be for nothing.
  3. Match quality will improve when more players are in the pool, followed by better environment and less toxic community. We must get rid of the very obvious forced 50% winrate and replace with random matchmaking because randomness = fairness. Account buyers are beyond comfortable with the forced 50%, that is why Dota 2 is warm bed for boosters and account buyers. I have had two of such losing streaks as you can see from the screenshots. Exactly 11. Only a rigged system and a failed one can do this to its money paying loyal players. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS, nothing you can do when you lose. Trolls, feeders, jungle bots everything you can imagine are on my team making my games unplayable and stressful. I really need a strong mind to play Dota 2 which makes me wonder: why do I pay for something that forces me to eat poo poo? @jeffhill @gaberowe @jeremyselan @lostgoat @bjj @

Sorry to correct you, but it wasn't "As Team Spirit suggested." Ilya "Illidan" Pivtsaev is a streamer for Team Spirit. Also, I'm not going to explain something that you would still not consider as a fact, but it's all about skill issues. Sitting at 1500 MMR and saying, "Only a rigged system and a failed one can do this to its money-paying loyal players," is just straight cap. Additionally, Ilya "Illidan" Pivtsaev suggests resetting everyone's MMR above 5k MMR, and if Valve does that, it will have absolutely no impact on you. It's all about your performance in the game.

"Sorry to correct you" I am 3000 MMR, if that is what you hold dear. LOL like all other defenders you refuse to see how ridiculous the system is. I give you an example, https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/7335241575) this is my Sniper destroying an Ancient Spirit Breaker at mid lane. I just want better quality games, I don't care about MMR. However, every time I am 25 MMR away to next rank I get losing streak. Every single time. You can talk like pro all you want, still pro players don't like this matchmaking system and Valve had to change Immortal matchmaking under pressure into "Captain Mode". Maybe you are not as pro as you think you are Btw, if you look at other games like Hearthstone you will understand what is Seasonal Reset
