Dude! Mine too! This new update is causing some issues man! I cannot see anything on the map, everything is always in the dark. No hero in the minimap!

urajendi commented 2 years ago

I have the exact same issue. No Minimap and no hero icon. The whole map is dark. Any fixes???

life is hard playing on a unix system right?

mritunjay10 commented 2 years ago

Facing the exact same issue in Ubuntu 20.04 even in demo mode.

andrelbc commented 2 years ago

Same issue here.

arustguy commented 2 years ago

Guys when i switch to vulkan it's fixed. I'm on ubuntu 20.04

AODQ commented 2 years ago

encountering same issue - vulkan and opengl.

dchiang commented 2 years ago

I have the same issue, but last time I played using vulkan my frame rate dropped down to hell so that's why I use OpenGL in my Ubuntu 20.04 to play dota2. As you can see on this video I just made the performance of the game sucks when using Vulkan https://youtu.be/2TBBht9opJo.

I know valve putting some considerable money on vulkan but it really sucks that they said it's the recommended engine having this level of performance in comparisson to the performance when using OpenGL.

andrelbc commented 2 years ago

No issues here when using vulkan, but the performance is really bad on vulkan. I hope this bug gets fixed soon, OpenGL currently performs insanely better compared to vulkan.

remove -gl in launch options and add -vulkan. Worked for me but the system hanged twice after that cause I was running chrome beside it.

Those flags are for setting the default engine during the launch of the game and it also disables the option to do it from inside the game so you can't modify it unless you change the flag in the properties of the game again. It is almost the same as just getting into the game and choosing the engine you want to use from the settings inside.

I managed to improve the performance using Vulkan by enabling VSync but still it wont allow me to reach more than 60FPS while when using OpenGL I easily got up to 120. Here I share my current settings although I haven't test them with a full match Screenshot from 2022-09-02 01-44-23

-vulkan -vconsole in launch options fixed the issue for me

I don't think so. Error like this is very rare. I played about 4 years on Linux and error like this (makes you can't play the game) only appears to me 2 times (including this one).

hsnprsd commented 2 years ago

I am having the same issue on Arch Linux.

nithinsanjey commented 2 years ago

I have this issue in both vulkan and opengl.. No solution mentioned above works for me.

For some reason I am not able to change that particular setting in the game hence I mentioned in launch options
