GPU memory usage issue #3760

Description

after the last update (start about oct. 7, not sure exact date when the issue first begin) shared gpu memory usage will gradually go up when the game is playing and the FPS will go all the way down to about 10. im using thinkpad T14 playing dota2 and its fine before, and its fine for playing other games. the shared gpu memory has a max size of 7.9 gb, and it will be filled up by dota in about 1 and half games (result is the FPS go all the way down to 10), unless i reboot dota2, then the memory clear out (FPS go back to about 120) and it start REFILL UP again.

there must be a memory leakage somewhere, either in the game, or the API between dota2 and the system memory.

my computer thinkpad T14, system is win 10 21H2, all system update is up to date.

my friend has the same problem with his Alienware m15 R7. so i dont think it is an isolated issue here.

I have dell 7320 laptop , 16gb memory , and have same problem exactly. It started to happen about 7-8 days ago , only if i close and reopen dota2 it works 1-2 games, than it happen same and start to use 8gb of all memory as i see from task manager and my fps is about 9-10 , so what cause this i m not sure but it started to happen after i updated drivers of laptop .. what is your graphic driver ? mine is Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics , maybe all we have same graphic card and after updating driver it started ?

If you find a solution please share :) I will do the same. Do you think its because of dota latest update ? or because of computers driver or something else related with pc hardware. ?

find a solution that said reinstall the gpu drive. donesnt seems to work for me, and the game got worse (the game looks like minecraft character. dude, im serious. dont try that method!!!!). have to use my other pc to play while im trying figure out what happened.

all those happened after latest gpu drivers . Bu at the same time dota had an update aswell. But i am suspicious latest drivers of the gpu , maybe it turned on a speciality not needed.. Before even i can play with high graphic settings , now i can only play the worst settings and need to close and re open the dota in the middle of the game , because it start to freeze and memory used by the game is about 7-8-9 gb of ram. Its making me crazy too , i dont know what to do , i read about starting game with -gl option etc. but those not working or i installed dlc packet for gl for windows . I dont know what to do , i will try more to realize whats is the root cause of the issue.
