Dota 2 crashes PC to complete shutdown #3823

Description

The problem is serious, infuriating cause it has cause tons of SD now for no fault of my own and is consistent.

Every time I start the game it is fine until it gets to drafting and then sudden shutdown whole system. No log, no warning no message nothing. On restart sometimes it repeats under 3 restart and sometimes it just keeps shutdown PC as soon as you reconnect to the game. I have a reasonably new system following specs. Ran all self test no fault found. Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 Motherboard: MSI MPG B550 Gaming Edge GPU: 8GB AMD Radeon 480 Power Supply: 1000W Platinum Corsair power supply RAM: 16GB DDR4

It has been months, I have tried everything I could find over the internet. Fresh OS, fresh drivers, reassemble hardware. Nothing works. Happens only and only with Dota, no overheating, Happens every time 10 after reconnect or game acceptance.

Do you solve this problem? I have similar problem: My dota2 also crash in 10 minutes after start dota2 with the whole system down. I have to force restart everytime. So the game cannot play at all. I have tried: 1.replace new RAM 2.Reinstall System to win10 or win11 3.Replace another two SSD to reinstall Dota2 4.Replace a GPU 5.Run game in administor and compatible mode 6.check game file integrality. 7.update the motherboard BIOS. This problem still appears. I believe it is the motherboard(B550m tuf plus) or CPU(5700x) problem or it is the game itself problem. I used a320 and 5700x(3600) the problem didn't show up It only show up after I replace my motherboard from a320 to b550m.

Couldnt get the problem solved so just stopped playing the game. Interesting observation about b550. I have the same board. Could it be a setting in the bios that has some incompatibility with Dota. For me its not a crash but sudden 'power off' which much more concerning. However it happens at very predictable points. These include, when a game I found, as soon as the game engine is loaded (even in demo), when selecting abilities in AD etc. If I stay on the home screen it almost never crashes. This to me means that there is a problem in the application or a unresolvable conflict created when it asks for some resources etc. I was almost thinking about replacing my GPU, but I guess that wouldnt help

Please can someone give us some informations or ways to debug this problem? I have the same problem to the point where i can replicate it now by going in demo mode as kunkka with the new new set from the collector's cache 2023. this problem did go away before but came back with the summer 2023 update I suspect. my specs are as follows: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Gigabyte DS3H b450M motherboard RX 590 8GB Nitro Graphics card 16GB DDR4 RAM running in single channel (dual channel only gives me 8gb for some reason) 600W PSU Windows 10 Home

Of course I did update every driver and bios possible. I verified game files, cleaned up drivers and reinstalled latest/optimal version provided by the manufacturer. Cleaned up computer, applied new thermal paste and checked every cable, Installed fresh Windows 10...

The PC completely cuts power and reboots. Only in Dota 2! no other way to replicate this issue just dota 2

Stress tested the graphics card and processor for 1 hour so I doubt the PSU is failing.

used memtest which took 4 hours to complete and passed all tests.

My behaviour score keeps decreasing because of abandons..

I am hesitant to go to buy any new PC part because I cant confidently attribute the problem to one component.

Please help

Unfortunately valve will never bother to fix or reply or even care how many bans and LPs they distribute due to faulty beta software. I left dota for a year because of how bad it got. Incidentally meanwhile I had a GPU upgrade and now although it still crashes 3-4 times a session, the PC doesnt shutdown its only dota.

My guess is that some code overloads the GPU which in turn does some weird power draw that cause the reboot. It is just sad that even being in Dota they dont really care much about the serious issues. The only bugs they pay attention to are gameplay bugs which are easy to fix.

Would like to say that the problem was in my computer. I had a dying PSU and the motherboard was malfunctioning too as a result of the PSU. After replacing both, the game works perfectly fine!
