Dota 2 freeze before loading #4647

Description

So just after the diretide P2 update, game freezes during intro video. Putting -novid in start options removes the video but then as main menu starts to "develop" it freezes aswell, before everything is even opened. Tried starting with -dx9, -high but it didnt work. I verifyied the integrity of game files but also didn't help at all.

Windows 10, Ryzen 3600, 32gb ram, gtx 1060 3gb, win 10.

Same story, but I don't get far enough to even see the video. If I'm lucky I can hear the video, but by then the game is already frozen. Tried reinstalling, verifying the game files, nothing works.

Windows 10, Intel i7-7700HQ, 32gb ram, gtx 1050TI

I had the same issue. Had to wait like 10 min for the first load. After it next launches was as usual. So try to wait for long time to load, maybe it will help.

Today I have deleted all dota files, downloaded everything, along with the circa 40mb update at around 07:00 AM (CET) and installed again with no success. I will try waiting for the load as theduna mentioned and will get back here!

I waited roughly 30 minutes to test the solution theduna found, to no avail. The only new development is that a handful others are having issues along the same lines on reddit EDIT: just as I wrote this the game finally loaded in, after 40 minutes

Okay so I don't know what exactly fixed it, but I wrote this in launch options "-novid -high -dx9 -nojoy -novr -nohltv" got stack halfway through loading the menu, left it like that for around 30mins and when I got back everything was fine. I don't know if it loaded menu after 5 or 35mins but seems like some of it helped. Hope you guys resovle the issues!
