Open arnokay opened 1 year ago

Description

If you do not specify -vulkan when starting the game, then it freezes in the main menu. If you specify -vulkan, the game starts, but when loading a hero test or a regular map, the game crashes without errors.

Example Match ID (and possibly Timestamp)

Possible solution: I check for updates to my video drivers and download it from site because GeForce Experience do not find new drivers. I updated from 511.79 to 531.18. I delete -vulkan from boot of the game.

Or new dota 2 patch already fix the problem and I overthinking it.

Current solution : use dx11 or -safe_mode, vulkan seems to be the problem

My whole OS (Win11) goes BSOD 💀 right after showing splash screen with logo. Great update tho 😄 P.S.: NVIDIA Graphics Driver 531.18

podliy16 commented 1 year ago

@Arnokay updating nvidia drivers to 531.18 fixed issue for me, thanks!

Looks like the latest update fixed 🔧 the issue and game now can start again w/o BSOD 🙂

Still having the same issue.

Tried the following without success:

Using Radeon RX 580

Any help would be most appreciated.

For me DotA crashes immediately on startup when I use -vulkan.

  • 7900 XTX
  • AMD Driver 23.3.1

Do you install vulkan from Dota2 DLC? Steps for downloading: Dota 2 in library > Properties > DLC > Check "Vulkan Support" Wait until steam download requirements and launch dota.

I also have Win 11. AMD Radeon 7900 XTX with AMD Driver 23.3.1

Vulkan DLC downloaded, with -vulkan set in launch options, game still crashes immediately, even when doing a Hero Demo.

upgraded my nvidia driver, but still suffering from crashing at random time

Uninstall Dota 2, Uninstall/Reinstall Steam, Reinstall Dota 2 - should fix.

doesn't work, still crashes from time to time, hope valve or nvda can fix

JimAmuro commented 1 year ago

seems to be related to ddr5 memory overclock. i reset my motherboard settings then don't see the issue again in several days. it is still a bug since i never met such issue with memory overclock before 7.32. hope 7.33 can fix this.
