Abusing Dead Reckoning Chest #7611

Open muertalover opened 1 year ago

Description

A lot of people have been creating duplicate accounts to get those free 5 keys, open chests and gift those sets back to main account to trade them up. mainly this would lead to a lot of people getting tier 3 sets, causing their values to drop significantly. Not only that but currently to get a guaranteed tier 3 set you need to open 25 (62.5$) chests (worst case scenario) and trade them up. while implementing another method of buying key is a good thing for dota plus users, i dont think it would be rational to leave that method even after the Dead Reckoning event has passed. It would make obtaining once battle pass exclusive persona way too easy, while also lowering its marketplace value significantly, disregarding those who bought bp for this persona. for example, the way its going, estimated marketplace value for tier 3 sets would be 20-35$ which is way too low.

One of the ways this could be fixed is: making dead reckoning chest sets ungiftable removing another method of buying keys after the event has passed increasing amount of sets needed for trade up (least reliable method)

Example Match ID (and possibly Timestamp)

This is a game bug tracker, this is not really a bug report.

nor is gifting back to main accounts sets you got from free keys intended

The general restriction on gifting is 30 days they should be friends with Steam Guard, if they are able to bypass this then that is a bug.

After this period, gifting sets to your friends is not a bug.

Yes, they are exploiting this system, and some solutions needs to be there for it.
