According to the patch notes "Tormentors don't attack or move, but they reflect 70% of damage received evenly among all heroes within 1200 radius. All reflected damage is dealt as Magical. Deals 200% damage to Illusions"
I have found, through noticing in-game and testing afterwards, that the damage reflected is, in fact, of the same type as dealt to the tormentor, and not always magical in nature. Additionally, physical damage that is reflected is affected by damage block, such as Crimson Guard or any melee heroes inherent damage block.
Shown here: damage initially being reduced by the regular damage block of the Crimson Guard, being negated while the "Guard" buff is active, and then starting again when the buff falls off.
