@kisak-valve Im getting new issues now unfortunately. At the boot i get amdgpu 0000:02:00.0 invalid pci rom header but it boots up fine and the 2nd issue is that the screen after suspend stays black and is not waking up. As far as i can tell everything else is okay and the game now works but now this issues are here.

I don't have any crashes with 3.16-9, and news are working fine. However with two recent version of the game (6.2.0 and 6.3.0) I sometimes experience sudden lockups of the game. I cannot attach any logs, because such lockup happens during battle and I have to reconnect ASAP.

You could write a script which executes right after the WoT Blitz process finishes that copies the log to some other place and thus prevents it from being overwritten.

Works fine with 4.11-5 after manual removal of Mono. I can't say yet if lockups are gone or not, but at least graphics is working correctly
So far, I haven't seen any single lockup in 4.11-5. The only downside of this version is having to uninstall Mono after each update of the game
In Proton 5 built-in browser window used to show, e.g., news feed, stopped working.
Also, I still find it annoying to remove Mono each time Steam updates something related to game, even when I know for sure there were no updates of game itself. I guess Steam is updating Mono itself, just to make me remove it again.

Weird, I've checked all versions back to 3.16-9 and it doesn't work anywhere, though I'm pretty sure it worked with some 4.x. Maybe it's caused by update of game itself. Log from 5.0 is attached steam-444200-5.0-5.log
Hi! There are some steps how to launch WoT Blitz on newer versions of Proton, maybe useful for someone.
FWIW I just remove Mono with "wine64 uninstaller" each time it gets installed, with no additional steps. However, 5.13.1 doesn't work for me because of broken fullscreen mode, so I use 5.0.9. No idea about mesa as I'm using nvidia.

In 5.13 screen is cropped on the top by a few pixels. This is not unplayable but still unpleasant. Logs and screenshots are attached.

UPD: actually, with this issue game is unplayble because in the battle crucial parts of UI (timer and top of player lists) are not visible.

@annulen Could you give me the resolution of your monitor and the resolution that you are trying to play the game at? Do you have more than one monitor connected?
Resolution is 1920x1080 (native), single monitor
@annulen I see that was somewhat of a silly question as you cannot change the resolution specifically in this game. I'm assuming you are playing at the standard resolution (not the "lower" resolution). I'm not seeing the same problem as you, but I have a feeling that the game is interacting strangely with your specific monitor. Could you also provide more details about your monitor like model etc? Also, could you attach the output of Help-> System Information in the Steam client?
In case I'm still not able to reproduce with the extra info, could you also get new logs of 5.0-9 and 5.13-1 with +event,+x11drv,+x11settings,+win,+system,+fshack added to the standard logging options?

If needed, I can run modified binaries, or set breakpoint where you say and get backtrace
@annulen I agree, I think it is likely related to your WM -- you are using Awesome WM right? I was unable to reproduce what you are seeing on KDE or Gnome. I also did wonder if it was due to some specific setting - I looked into Awesome briefly and it seems highly customizable. I've seen windowing problems on KDE that were linked to specific setting options (and thus not universally reproducible).
There are number of outstanding windowing issues right now, so it might be some time before this gets a good look (especially because it seems specific to certain WMs). If you could verify that you are not seeing it on KDE or Gnome, that would help me know that I've diagnosed this correctly :)

I've installed OpenBox, with default configuration bug doesn't reproduce.
@annulen Thank you for checking that it's specific to Awesome (or at least not universal to all WMs). :+1: That helps a lot but these windowing bugs are tricky and can be quite time intensive :/ I'd recommend using Proton 5.0 with Awesome for the time being.
Hi! There is some steps how to launch WoT Blitz on newer versions of Proton, maybe useful for someone.
- So, native Linux Steam application is installed with proper dependencies (i386 libs, mesa-vulkan-drivers and etc.). I've tested KDE Neon (Plasma 5.20.2) with xanmod linux kernel 5.8.17 and kisak-mesa-fresh 20.2.1.
- In Steam Settings, for example, enable Steam Play with Proton 5.0.9 (I've tested it and Proton-5.9-GE-8-ST, but I think everything should work on Proton 5.13)
- Download the game. Also Steam downloads Proton and Steamworks Shared(which contains Microsoft Visual C++, .NET Framework)
- Try to launch the game - there be a window showing preparation for launch and... game won't launch
So, for Proton 5.0.9 do this:
- close Steam completely
- delete folder - ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/444200 - this is game prefix, but it needs to be rebuild
- launch linux terminal
- copy/paste this command: WINEPREFIX=~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/444200/pfx/ ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Proton\ 5.0/dist/bin/wine64 uninstaller
- in opened window choose and uninstall Wine Mono package, quit uninstaller.
- launch the game again. Now Proton will install only Microsoft Visual C++ packages to game prefix, without Mono and game will launch. In-game store and containers also work. The game performance and visual effects compared to Proton 3.16 will be significantly better. With Proton 5.0.9, 5.13.1 or Proton-5.9-GE-8-ST (which contain DXVK 1.7-1.7.2) it is nessesary to use mesa 20.2 or higher - better performance and visual effects.

ihusky02, there is file "wine64" in ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Proton\ 5.0/dist/bin folder; "uninstaller" - is a command, not a file. Are you talking about Proton or just usual Wine prefix?

There is mono error dialog window on every launch, and I don't know if everything else work fine, but after pressing "Ok" I was able to log-in with steam account and play through the tutorial.
Unfortunatly, I must unhide steam directory, but commands don`t work :/
@ihusky02 You are running commands as root, which fail because root user has different home directory. You should run commands as the same user which runs steam client.
Ok finally work, but remove 44200 directory, is unnecessary, and only makes problem with not working commands.

I tried with two of my Proton versions (3.16-9 and Experimental) and got those errors. What's wrong with it and how do I fix it? Edit: Tried with sudo, the terminal said that I don't own the file.
Hi! Proton 3.16 doesn't need to uninstall Wine Mono package ;) Proton 3.16 works itself. But with more poor graphics than newer versions. My goal was to make Wot Blitz work on Proton 5.0 and above. I think something is wrong in your command with experimental Proton. Could you please try with standard Proton 5.13. P.S. there is no need to use sudo or root with this command. You need to check path to Proton bin folder and wine64 executable is right.
Hello i have been sent here from Discord. Im having a specific issue which i did not find anyone else having. A little background is that i have played this game on Ubuntu 20.04 using 5.13 with no issue but since that switched over to Arch(used Debian in between too same issue). So i installed the game on Arch and i launch it using Proton 6.3 with PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 (i have an older AMD gpu which isnt working well with amdgpu driver so no vulkan) the game starts and asks me to agree to EULA. I agree and confirm but then i get the Error: Unable to connect to server. I have tried everything ive found even on offical Blitz websites adding additional DNS then opening ports with ufw but still nothing. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
