Works for me with no tweaks. When launching with the launcher though, there's no sound (but this isn't a problem when launching normally).
Works great out of the box.
How do proton users deal with the DLC for ME2? I'm seeing conflicting answers ranging from buying it on Origin or downloading it and installing it, then authenticating to one's Origin account. (I've yet to have Origin actually work via regular WINE or wine-staging. I haven't tried proton.)
I get at least one C++ runtime error per play session using the Proton defaults (usually after about 30 mins or an hour). Thankfully ME2 autosaves. Some more discussion here https://www.protondb.com/app/24980
Mass Effect 2 not starting

I launch Mass Effect 2. A small box appears that lets me choose between the launcher and the game directly
Whatever I choose, the game crashes. Immediately after I click on any of the two options, the blue STOP X button turns into a green PLAY again.
I tried with both Proton 6 and the latest 5.

I use the Flatpak version.
Sorry, I just tried another game (Beat Hazard 2) and its the same story. I have no other games yet to test, since this is a new installation and my internet connection is slow.
But this is not a game specific issue, I assume.
