Alan Wake works without problems as tested so far.

Hello @XenoSlug, please add PROTON_LOG=1 %command% to the game's launch options, reproduce the crash, and attach the generated $HOME/steam-$APPID.log to this issue report as a file. (Proton logs compress well if needed.) Also, please copy the contents of Steam Runtime Diagnostics from Steam (Steam -> Help -> Steam Runtime Diagnostics) and put it in a gist, then include a link to the gist in this issue report.

@XenoSlug Thank you for reporting this! It turns out that this due to the switch to enable nvapi by default. The game does not like nvapi to be enabled on AMD. This will be disabled by default whenever the next 9.0 releases go live.

I'm experiencing some very strong texture flickerings in this game, both on X11 and Wayland compositors. Tested on Proton GE, Experimental, 8 and 7.0. Seems to be reduced on Proton 7, but still present.
