I can confirm this, it was working before now, after doing some dll overrides, it crashes at various places in the menu, also if you choose fullscreen you get nothing but a white screen.

rcgamer29 commented 6 years ago

Confirmed here also.

ghost commented 6 years ago

Game runs perfectly at 1600x900 resolution and below.

V-sync doesn't matter, FXAA doesn't matter, Windowed mode doesn't matter, disabling all dll overried that Proton sets doesn't matter, disabling Esync/DXVK doesn't matter.

Just set it to 1600x900 or lower and it works... 1080p and it doesn't get past loading screen.

I think you are onto something as I've not had any problems other than the texture for the Trolley station doesn't seem to load correctly for me. My screen resolution is 1399X768 for reference.

EDIT: Also I have ran into a weird bug that causes me to be unable to access Crazy Box mode level 1-1 after I play for a bit. It goes away when I erase the save file for the game.

I tried it out, the game does run at 900p and lower, but I get a really strange bug where the car(in arcade and original mode) gets misplaced in the map and enters the road and it can't move, Plus, if I choose to play with Gus, the game crashes. schermata da 2018-10-28 10-26-08

lucifertdark commented 6 years ago

Confirmed, I set my resolution to 1920x720 & the game runs as well as it does on Windows.

ghost commented 6 years ago

Confirming that some resolutions cause graphical problems and (at least) Gus to just be stuck in the road.

import-10-28-18-12-17-28-275428056

I set it to the highest 4:3 resolution available, 1024x768, and didn't see these problems.

import-10-28-18-12-24-48-546853548

Also strangely enough, I can't start the game in 1600x900 today, but I could yesterday. Nothing on my system changed and I didn't even reboot. Go figure ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Utopanic commented 6 years ago

I tried running the game at 1024x768, and it works perfectly, this is soooooo weird schermata da 2018-11-02 01-20-22

Crazy Taxi: some Objects invisible / Game crashes when using Proton 4.11-3

Issue transferred from https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/3036. @Brn9hrd7 posted on 2019-09-03T21:51:24:

Compatibility Report

System Information

I confirm:

steam-71230_invisible.log steam-71230_crash.log

Symptoms

Depending on which driver and map you pick, there are either some Vehicles like Taxis and Trams invisible, or the game just crashes.

This issue seems to occur only on some resolutions, I have this issue when running the game at 1080p, it doesn't occur when running at 720p. I don't have this problem when using Proton 4.2-9.

Reproduction

Click on "Configure Crazy Taxi" in the popup, set the resolution to 1080p and launch the game

waspennator commented 4 months ago

Proton 9.0 and Experimental seems to have made this game unplayable testing on oled. It works fine on first launch, but when I start a game and go to character select, Axel and B.D Joe's models fail to render, then as soon as I move onto Gena, the game just outright crashes to library.

steam-71230.log.txt

If I try to launch the game after that, it either silently crashes out on the initial game loader or gets stuck if you run a proton log command.

steam-71230.log (1).txt

Game works fine if you drop down to 8.0-5

waspennator commented 2 months ago

Still broken as of latest proton Experimental. I was able to start a round of crazy taxi even though the player character model was invisible, but it crashed a few seconds after starting. Now it crashes as soon as it hits the character select screen.

waspennator commented 1 month ago

Tested proton Experimental bleeding edge build and it seems to be finally working again thanks to that Wine Heap Top Down commit. Characters rendered as normal and game didn't crash right at the start of gameplay.
