LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 appears to be working perfectly. Further testing will likely be necessary (I can't finish the entire game instantly!), but it appears to be working perfectly.

Can confirm that this title is working without an issue on my system. Just acquired this title and have played for over 2 hours with no issue.

Running Ubuntu 18.04 with nvidia-drivers-396 using xbox360 controllers in co-op with my child.

I get the following output in the terminal when trying to run this game with Proton 4.2, Radeon VII, and Mesa 19 from stable Padoka. https://pastebin.com/xv1DR4Xu I have tried git Mesa, and there is no difference.

kisak-valve commented 5 years ago

Hello @viggy96, please add PROTON_LOG=1 %command% to the game's launch options and drag and drop the generated $HOME/steam-$APPID.log into the comment box. Also, please note if there's a known good Proton version for you.

Same issue when using Proton 4.2-3. I've tried installing a backport libSDL2, version 2.0.9, from ppa:cybermax-dexter/sdl2-backport, but it didn't help.

Whitelist Request

System Information

Works great out of the box.

kisak-valve commented 4 years ago

Hello, is anyone seeing an issue with this game and Proton 5.0 that would block it from being whitelisted?

viggy96 commented 4 years ago

No issues for me on Manjaro GNOME Kernel: 5.5.16 Mesa: 20.0.4 GPU: Radeon VII

cewbdex commented 3 years ago

Game crashes for me in Kreacher Discomforts mission, log. Fedora 34, both xorg and wayland

EDIT: crashes also in A Giant Virtuoso.

cewbdex commented 3 years ago

I was intensively testing this and it looks like a regression, tested with 5.13 and 5, no luck. I also tested with 4.11 and it looks like it works flawlessly, I included log of the working version too. next log

cewbdex commented 3 years ago

@kisak-valve should I report it elsewhere? The logs don't make me really clever, not sure what should I do.

kisak-valve commented 3 years ago

Hello @cewbdex, this is the right place for all feedback related to LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7.

Re-reading your logs, these look like some lines of interest:

MESA-INTEL: error: ../src/intel/vulkan/anv_device.c:3543: GPU hung on one of our command buffers (VK_ERROR_DEVICE_LOST)
err: DxvkSubmissionQueue: Command submission failed: VK_ERROR_DEVICE_LOST

To me, this sounds like an issue with mesa/anv. It may be worthwhile to also mention the behavior you're seeing to your video driver vendor.

I encountered the same bug of the prequel (issue here) on my Steam Deck on multiple Proton versions, I can't load my save nor I can't start a new game that can save. All I get when going to Load Save is "No LEGO Harry Potter Years 5 - 7 Data Present". Finishing a level results in an automatic save (no error), which doesn't appear when I quit to the main menu and try to load that same save. The fix used for LHP1-4 doesn't seem to work here. Here's the log using Proton Experimental: steam-204120.log

Edit: Somehow solved the problem. All I had to do was delete the entire folder in /home/deck/.local/steam/steamapps/compatdata/(GAMEID), then boot up the game with unset LC_ALL && %command% written in the game's command line options
