Reproduction

Start the game and try to play online or offline versus.

The issue with controller input may be fixed in Proton 4.2-1. Please retest.

nded03 commented 5 years ago

Can confirm that the double input bug has been fixed as of Proton 4.2. Online multiplayer features are still non-functional, so I will leave this issue open.

MCMic commented 5 years ago

I tried both proton 4.2-9 and 4.11-2 and I still have the double input problem.

For me the whole game does not even start. The "Play" button in Steam changes for a brief moment, but apparently the game insta crashes or never is really started and the button changes back to "Play", as if nothing had happened.

So I went into my Steam folder and set the WINEPREFIX to the current Proton 5's directory and ran the executable with Proton myself. That works just fine. So Steam is somehow not capable of choosing the correct Proton, which I have configured in the properties of the game and run the executable with it?! What?

The downside obviously being, that Steam is not even aware of me playing the game, as I started it outside of Steam. If there is ever any multiplayer, I probably also wont be able to join games or be joined by a friend on Steam, because Steam is not aware of me playing, and not being able to start the game properly.

Please fix this. It seems to be an easy problem to take care of, probably Steam messes up some path in its invocation of the game. If I can even do it manually, it should be fairly easy to get it right from a Steam perspective, where I configured, which Proton Version to use and Steam knows where the game is located.

Started to have major slowdown when actually in game (but not in the menu or jukebox option, so it is something related to the video). Starts the second you go into the character select (so in the actual emulation).

Capcom Arcade Stadium has a similar slowdown problem, but Street Fighter Collection didnt before (and I tried it on older releases of proton, same thing) - was there an update by Capcom that is causing this?

I'm getting this the same "play button changes briefly then fails to start" problem with all Proton versions. It's the only game that does it. If anyone has any ideas, please share.

I have that issue with many games actually. Not sure what is wrong, tried many things. Proton versions, graphics card drivers, OS updates and upgrades, game reinstall, doing things people suggest in steam forum, .... But some games just work. I think it is just something that Steam doesn't get about my system and has some silly assumption, that does not hold and prevents games from working.
