System Information

I confirm:

Symptoms

The game, at GameCenter (My.com), give this error: Steam needs to be running to start the game "Warface". please run it and press Play again.

I think just need an patch to the laucher, for see Steam already started, why I launch this GameCenter from STEAM, but I don't have a fast-skill like you for reproduce this patch.

Hello @7ovo7, please add PROTON_LOG=1 %command% to the game's launch options and drag and drop the generated $HOME/steam-$APPID.log into the comment box.

The mentioned error should be fixed in Proton 4.2. It runs a bit further now, but still doesn't work due to its anti-cheat protection.

Ok, I wait next proton update for re-try to lauch this game.

launcher works but if i click on play this error appears "Game start error Service request timeout" the dump is about 900Mbytes i edited it so it fits steam-291480_fixed.log Proton Version: proton-4.11-8

my specs: OS: Manjaro Linux KERNEL: 5.3.11-1-MANJARO CPU: Intel Core i5-7600K @ 3.80GHz GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 GPU DRIVER: NVIDIA 440.31 RAM: 24 GB

For me, the launcher comes up, seemingly begins trying to download the game, and then freezes up with none of the buttons clickable and no progress on the download bar. Have to use kill or pkill to close it. Here's my proton log. There's a lot of errors throughout, but the one it ends on before I manually close it is something about Bcrypt steam-291480.log

Downgrading to 4.11-13, it just comes up with a box saying that my windows version is too old. If I say OK, it just ends the process. The launcher never even starts. 2020-09-12-210809_329x115_scrot

Is there any progress made in 3 years ? Afaik no game running MRAC works with proton/wine
