The game now runs, though it seems to experience graphical glitches. My log as follows: steam-229580.log

AwesamLinux commented 5 years ago

I can confirm that the game is playable now but has some remaining issues:

I'm not entirely surprised about performance. The game runs on DirectX 9, so there's currently no bump using Vulkan natively.

Game still has the black box artifacts at the bottom of the screen: steam-229580-proton-4 11-2

With D9VK the game is completely unplayable: steam-229580-proton-4 11-2-d9vk

There appears also to be a new problem, there is a lot of sound crackling (at least I did not notice that before)

With Proton 4.11-3 the graphics look correct with d9vk and without. I'm no longer seeing any more graphical corruption.

New finding audio crackling appears to only occur when using d9vk (I had not thought of something graphics related could make audio difference)

Running the game with launch option "PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command%", fixes both the audio and the poor fps.

Remaining problem, game always starts minimized. This seems to be a problem that occurs with many UE3 games.

I still experience graphical artifacts, even with proton 4.11-3.

While running this game with D9VK, I experienced some crashes when transitioning between areas. Attached is my log:
