In the logs i spotted a line that may be relevant: "27207.064:0027:0028:err:module:import_dll Library MFC42.DLL (which is needed by L"Z:\mnt\Games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\RefleX\RefleX.exe") not found"

Compatibility Re-Test

Problem still persists, game and the configuration tool does not launch . Nothing happens.

Log of when trying to launch the game: system_info.txt steam-281860.log

Apparently checking ProtonDB, the game requires using protontricks to install mfc42.dll and typing

"WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ddraw.dll=n,b" %command%

in the launch options to make the game work without issues, seems to work on deck and on regular linux in general. So it seems like the issue lies with mfc42.dll and ddraw.dll

System Information

Can confirm game works by doing the following:

Game still fails to launch on deck without protontricks and ddraw workaround.

Aside from Mfc42.dll, unsure if it's something with wined3d, dxvk, or the fact the game is using dgvoodoo2 that's requiring the ddraw.dll override fix.

Edit: installed protontricks on my end to double check, as well as providing log for the game with Mfc42.dll, but without using the ddraw.dll override command. steam-281860 with protonfix.log

Retested again with proton Experimental only using protontricks to install mfc42.dll. Game seems to be capable of booting up now without needing to force the ddraw override, though the game still has one more problem where it's not rendering any visual at all on the screen, but i can hear background music and menu noises.

Tested again, with mfc42 installed, the game no longer seems to need the ddraw override on deck, game seems to render and play fine (think i only saw one mini boss with a stray pixel), if there could be a way to solve the mfc42 issue, this game would be ready to be rated for deck status.
