Symptoms

My PC's locale is set to en_US.UTF-8. But Max Payne (RU) doesn't seem to like that, and shows mojibake instead of Russian. Setting the locale to ru_RU.UTF-8 fixes that issue. You can add LC_ALL=ru_RU.UTF-8 %command% to launch options to workaround that issue.

Reproduction

1) Buy Max Payne in Russia 2) Install Max Payne (RU) 3) Press "Play" in Steam 4) The launcher is full of mojibake instead of Russian text
