Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 and 2 (285310 285330)

Both Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 and 2 seem to work great in proton 3.7 and has platinum ratings on winehq, so it would be nice to add them to the whitelist.

Have you tried the latest Nvidia drivers? I'm on 396.54

Just got done updating to 396.54 and trying it out : no change, still the same error message. all the other games still run.

So apparently this problem has also existed in windows. The fix (on Windows) seems to be to run the game in compatibility mode for Windows XP. You'll have to do it in your winecfg for this game.

Instructions on editing winecfg with proton are here under the Can I edit Proton to try and make a game work? heading. Hopefully that will work here as well.

Both games are working perfectly for me.

I just tested it again, i still get the same error and black screen.

I run into a small issue where the mouse won't work on the save box. Is this a mouse grab error? If so, a workaround probably can be applied.

Hello @gituser823, please add PROTON_LOG=1 %command% to the game's launch options and attach the generated $HOME/steam-$APPID.log to this issue report as a file. (Proton logs compress well if needed.) Also, please copy your system information from Steam (Steam -> Help -> System Information) and put it in a gist, then include a link to the gist in this issue report.
