You can use D9VK and the game runs pretty well:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edJbrnaolA0 Yes, with Proton the exe runs in the background hence the game doesn't work. With Wine-Staging and D9VK the game is working fine except the messed music in the latest DLC Trial by Fire. In the main game the music is fine.

Symptoms
Trying to launch the Game from Steam after a fresh installation results in:
steam-321960.log_1.zip
Executing Uplay via wine directly once and logging in:
env WINEPREFIX=/mnt/Games/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/321960/pfx wine64 /mnt/Games/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/321960/pfx/drive_c/Program\ Files\ \(x86\)/Ubisoft/Ubisoft\ Game\ Launcher/Uplay.exe
then closing it (Uplay) again and launching the Game from Steam seems to solve this issue. However, this leads me to the second issue. After getting the Uplay error fixed, and running the Game from Steam, it successfully launches Uplay and then shows the game's loading splash. But after the loading splash disappears, nothing else happens.
The game is shown as 'Running' in Steam and the process is also running, but the game windows never appears unfortunately.
steam-321960.log_2.zip
Running the game directly via wine to leads to the game actually launching:
env WINEPREFIX=/mnt/Games/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/321960/pfx wine64 /mnt/Games/Steam/steamapps/common/Might\ \&\ Magic\ Heroes\ VII/Binaries/Win64/MMH7Game-Win64-Shipping.exe
But unfortunately the performance is very bad (lag spikes, low fps).Reproduction
Launching the Game from Steam does not work.
