Possible lines of interest from the log: err:alsa:get_alsa_name_by_guid No devices found in registry? and ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1108:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave surrounded by

mmap() failed: Cannot allocate memory
Failed to create permanent mapping for memfd region with ID = 1300235944
Failed to regester memfd mempool. Reason: could not attach memfd SHM ID to pipe

Possibly an alsa config issue.

Thanks for your reply. I just checked and this happens for both Dragon Age titles, ironically. Both have their own launcher where you can configure options before you reach in-game, and both launchers do not see any sound devices at all.

Sound works fine in other Proton titles. Could you please point me in the direction of whether or not this could be a local config issue or an issue with Proton? I've found other reports that suggest this may be a Proton/WINE problem? (https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/2946)

I've played both Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2 in wine before (don't ask what version, it's been a minute), so if it is indeed a wine problem, it's a regression, as I don't think I used any audio-related DLL overrides.
