I can confirm there are a drop from perfect 60fps to 1fps during change of scenes. and as is stated in this issue, the load time between stages is 60 secs or more.
Apart from that, the game is playable. BTW thanks for developing such a good product.
I can confirm that loading times are terrible hope they fix it or have a native port will be better. But its awesome proton anyway, hope for a fix soon. here is my tweet of the problem. https://twitter.com/Blastermaster77/status/1256794223204077568?s=20
with gloriouseggroll 5.7 GE works like a charm.
I have played SoR4 on 5.8 GE and confirmed that the loading issues are not present. There must be something patched either in Wine, or in something that GE has added, which solves the issue.
Loading issue with Proton-5.8-GE-1 are fixed, but online play are terrible slow. Great latency and very low FPS.
Streets of Rage 4 is now available for Linux:
It does not start with any proton anymore. Before DLC i was able to play with Proton or Native port, but now i can play with only native port. I want to play with Proton, because native port run slowly at some Survival levels.
Very bad performance with native version for that small game. When try with proton i got black screen with sound and game seems working without picture. I have ryzen 5800X3D and RTX 3060TI and i have such a bad performance in this game?
Streets of Rage 4(985890) Cannot play with Proton. Don't want native, it's slow.
Issue transferred from https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/6056. @deathxxx123 posted on 2022-08-04T10:10:05:
Black screen with sound. I can play it if i'm blind.
Install game + DLC and play with any proton.

Just cannot be played with any Proton with any distro / any hardware. I think this is happen after DLC release. Before that i play with Proton and was wonderful. Native version was released but it's slow and laggy. Proton version is so much much better.
Why no one say that game has default OpenGL API and optional Vulkan API? With Vulkan API game run great, but use only one CPU core and just little GPU usage, but i don't care. Stable 60 FPS in every level.

How do you specify you want to run in Vulkan?
Hello @lobo-tuerto, my understanding is that this game uses FNA, so setting the game's launch options to /gldevice:Vulkan
based on https://github.com/FNA-XNA/FNA/wiki/7:-FNA-Environment-Variables#fna3d_force_driver might have the effect you're looking for.
@kisak-valve Thanks for the info, got it running without problems now!
It was weird because it was working alright some time ago, then stopped playing for a bit then installed it again and I'd only get a black screen with some background music.
