Going by the progress dots on the bottom right of the loading screen, it seems to make some progress and then stop. The CPU seems to continue to churn away ~so I wonder if it's just taking an age to load.~ That said, disk usage is basically none so probably not.
I get a fatal error when attempting to run it on Fedora 33 using the standard Proton version. I could reproduce the above condition when using GE 5.4, however.
Can confirm, same thing happening as OP (Arch Linux, Proton Experimental) Game opens, the 3 dots start to load but stop.
One time I managed to get into the menus, play with options, and then try to matchmake, followed by a hang and a crash.
That was on Proton 5.21-ge, as far as I remember
@ruslang02 I just tried Proton 5.21-ge-1 and sadly wasn't able to get it to do anything differently.
I mean after a certain point I'm having the same splash screen hang as well, the first 30 minutes after alpha started the game was actually loading, I can even confirm that with a twitch stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/840688179.
@ruslang02 Well in that case, it could possibly have something to do with the game's servers then and not proton, hmm...
There is one important thing though, this game uses Denuvo's anti-cheat/anti-tamper system or some kind of it. Found out that it's calling the codefusion.technology
servers and the game refused to launch after I've switched wine configurations for several times.
Alright so quick update, I guess the 24-hour ratelimit finished for me and I was able to launch the game again to the menus with Proton-5.21-GE-1 and a clean wineprefix (AMD RX 5600XT and Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB ram)
P.S. Also worth pointing out, I have a development version of mesa from ArchLinuxCN repositories.
And again...

I do remember running into an issue regarding that! After i'd swapped my proton versions around (and after logging in to the game on my windows computer) whenever I tried launching it through steam on Arch, it'd come up with an error code; Navigating to it had the codefusion technology mentioned in it - apparently the error stated that they couldn't validate my login due to something like a firewall or something blocking it; They wanted me to type in a code in-game, then paste it into a message box on said error code website and they'd validate my login on my computer. Curious if that has anything to do with the anti-cheat software possibly being used.
Denuvo Anti-Cheat allows for 5 registrations per 24 hours, probably it would detect different wine prefixes and versions as separate computers...
P.S. I just wish I get a chance to play this game before it goes down again and comes back up in 6 months with microtransactions and some BattleEye integrated into it...
I managed to find the website again, this is what the error message navigated me to: https://support.codefusion.technology/b4b_0dnaq29/?l=english
Yeah, just wait for 24 hours and try again.
I'll try to capture logs this time and I'll publish them shortly.
Huh, interesting, so for some reason the game decides to log me out when I'm about to enter the match:
[-] VivoxCore: Warning: req_account_anonymous_login failed for 20122:Invalid Access Token Signature
[-] LogVivoxUser: Error: [0] Unexpectedly Logged Out by Network
[-] LogVivoxUser: Warning: [0] Login failed: 20122(Invalid Access Token Signature)

With proton 5.13-4 and WINED3D I have the loading screen, the 3 dots are loading and then a black screen.
I just tried to install Proton 5.21 GE-1 with the exact same result: Full logs
Using Linux 5.9 with Mesa Git 21.0 on Linux Mint 64bits on an RX580
Still no luck.
I guess we'll have to wait for the devs to do another alpha test before we're able to experiment more on this
Looks like as of the beta it now installs EAC and hangs at startup with proton 6.3-5.

Sounds like it's never going to work then until Valve gets the anti-cheats working through Proton. Edit: I'll still go ahead and try running it anyway, I have it downloading now. I'm gonna try running with the latest Proton GE
Well, good news! The game runs great under the latest Proton GE! Bad news, I kept getting constantly disconnected from the server. I can only assume that was the work of the anti-cheat not functioning properly. I can get into a match (albeit with bots) but about every 30 seconds it'll disconnect me and I have to rejoin.
Hangs on launch with Proton Experimental. Proton 6.14 GE-2 and 6.13 GE-1 both get ingame but it will disconnect when joining a match.
You win this round, EAC.
I can confirm that setting Proton Experimental install anticheat and then freeze on the launch screen. That image is beautiful but I'd love to see the game menu! :)
Same as @LGCW, Proton 6.14 GE-2 works great but I get constant disconnects.
I completely passed the run while closed beta be (no disconnects happened) but open beta completely broken for Linux users because disconnect happens every minute.

The Open Beta started off working well for me, but since yesterday I'm also getting disconnects
