Compatibility Report

System Information

I confirm:

Symptoms and Reproduction

  1. Download the game
  2. Press play
  3. A black screen appears. Nothing else come out of it. Has to press "STOP" on Steam and even kill the still lingering wine processes.

Also tried with Proton-5.0-10 (doesn't even show the black screen), Proton-GE-21-ST-1 and even 5.0-10 with the forbidden mfplat stuff.

Hello @Patola, can you share a Proton log of the game run with Proton Experimental (and a clean wine prefix)?

Patola commented 3 years ago

Done! Uninstalled the game, removed compatdata/1208520, reinstalled with Proton Experimental as compatibility option, ran the game for the first time, black screen. Killed it, launched it again, black screen again. So, still not functional. Here are the logs:

I managed to run the game, but I had some issues with cutscenes and dialogs, maybe this is a problem with mfplat. steam-1208520.log

Thanks @EsdrasTarsis, that's about what I expected to see from experimental-5.13-20201218c.

@Patola, for some reason the game is trying to use lsusb and not finding it just before the c000013a (which indicates you politely asked the game to die). I suspect the difference between @EsdrasTarsis's system and yours has to do with SteamVR being installed and the game trying to do something with OpenVR. Maybe try having SteamVR running before starting the game?

Patola commented 3 years ago

With SteamVR running, the game started, and has shown the same glitched menu screen as Esdras had (he has shown it to me on telegram), but when clicking on New Game the game crashed to the desktop.

Just for the record: to isolate the issue, I cleaned my prefix again, downgraded to 5.0-10 and ran the cursed mfplat scripts, and it worked including the intro and the unskippable cutscenes. So it is definitely a mfplat problem.
