Before the last update for war thunder the anti cheat would load up fine using proton 6.3 and all the newer ones. But since wind of change has come around the EAC will not load. It opens loads the bar all the way closes then re opens and does it all over and then it just closes it self and the game doesn't launch. ive tried also opening war thunder via the manual updater and it either A doesn't open and is just invisible and crashes or B opens loads for 5 mins the crashes

Game will start and is online, but I'm unable to get EAC working under proton so game gets into limited state. Native "works", but there are game breaking bugs. Mainly mouse capture doesn't work, this issue is not present when using Proton.

Reproduction

Change compatibility tool to Proton of your choice, install the game completely, double check that EAC is enabled in the launcher. Launch the game, try to play any historic match and the game will ask you to restart the game to enable EAC.

I've encountered three bugs.

  1. When I try and click use mouse1 on any menu item it doesn't work unless I use mouse2 to select it.

  2. Effects sometimes are visible through buildings, and with 9.1 I've noticed the effects are simply not how they're supposed to be. 2024-03-14_18-07 2024-03-14_18-06 Here's another photo showing flares visible through aircraft despite being dropped behind it. Also not captured with screenshot is flares almost instantly becoming invisible 2024-03-14_18-16

  3. At the end of a match when the game tries to load the post battle screen it freezes, and causes a crash.

Reproduction

There's nothing super specific to reproducing these bugs. Just click around on menu, and play a match then leave it. You should then notice your game freezing/crashing. One key thing to note ist this is all tested using ultra low quality/old video card support. I've found it's more stable/less visual bugs.

@JustCauseWhyNot hi there and thank you for the report. I believe that number 2 on your list should now be fully solved on the new Proton Experimental build.

Number 1, and 2 both appear to be working correctly now. Number 3 still happens consistently for me. If number 3 got fixed, and gaijin turned on eac for grb I could play it through proton exclusively. Thank you guys for your contributions.

I can run it now. But I can't use dlss. I'm able to use dlss/dlaa in squad with no launch options, and proton-ge-9.5. But warthunder won't allow me to change the dlss setting.
