Hello @LunaMoonshineLuna, are you able to reproduce the visual corruption with a current point release of mesa?
Hi, I am not a tech person, I use Kubuntu and installed all updates that I could, how can I test that Mesa point release you are talking about? Thank you.
You can use mesa from a PPA like kisak-mesa.
I have a similar problem. But instead of freezing with a visual glitch the game crashes. The same thing happens if I try to start the tutorial.
I am brand new to linux but I just played stranded yesterday works great... got to run on low graphics to play. Still looks great. Tried with most proton versions- all worked . Was having same problem. Game would close after selecting team
Edit- ok played around with settings got ultra working... to stop the crash turn off Anisotropy in game options under video. I am using proton experimental
Stranded: Alien Dawn does not capture mouse cursor

I think I misunderstood the compatibility report question, how do I rewrite this as a bug?
I'm also experienceing problems with this game after freshly moving from Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 to Linux Mint 21.3 (Cinnamon Edition, HWE-Kernel 6.5, Kisak-Mesa PPA, Ryzen 9 3950X and Nvidia RTX 2080 Super (Nvidia driver)).
I tried several Proton versions from 7 to 9, Steam "Proton experimental" an GE-Proton 9.2. I reduced the grahpics settings for better performance and compatibility, but the game still randomly crashes, mostly during fight scenes.
By doing a little research, I found older Proton issues here (I believe they were to be fixed in Proton 8.x) regarding crashes due to multiple audio input devices enabled in a Proton/Wine scenario. So I disabled all but one in pavucontrol. I also turned off in-game background music. Unfortunaltely, it doesn't turn off music in fighting scenes, but it seems to have helped in non-fighting scenes.
Just in case the number of simultaneous audio sources is set too low, I increased the number of possbile sources from 256 to 1024 to no positive effect.
I monitored the crashlog for at least 10 of the last crashes, it is always the "Audio Task" thread.
I hope this will help in locating and fixing the issue some time soon. If more information is needed, please specify.
For those with crashes at game start (when the crash landing sequence starts), reduce reflections to "low" or "off". Reduce view distance if performance is bad, it costs a lot.
Additional: As a workaround, I renamed winepulse.drv to _winepulse.drv in the /Windows/System32 folder used by Wine/Proton for Stranded - Alien Dawn. This way, Wine disables audio on my system and Stranded - Alien Dawn runs totally silent, but crash-free.

Symptoms
When loading the map the loading screen shows graphic glitches and freezes.
Reproduction
When starting the game, the game opens and lets me choose a "New game", I press "Not now" when asked if I want to do the tutorial, I get to the Settings Menu where I can choose difficulty and map location, I press "Next" Getting into the Survivors Screen, just keeping all as it randomly is and press "Start". Loading screen comes up, little circle turning in the right down corner., but then the screen glitches and freezes.
