Hello @adrianlshaw, please copy your system information from steam (Steam -> Help -> System Information) and put it in a gist, then include a link to the gist in this issue report.

Compatibility Report

System Information

The game launches, but during the beginning CGI, the game stalls. The graphics are still being rendered, the character is still moving, but the camera halts instead of continuing its journey around the character.

I've tried many things, D9VK (PROTON_USE_D9VK=1), dgVoodoo (WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ddraw=n"), the 60FPS patch (https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/589-srhook/), and vanilla settings. All fail at the same spot.

kisak-valve commented 4 years ago

Hello @shoober420, can you check if Proton 3.7 has better behavior for you? That would make your experience a regression if true.

shoober420 commented 4 years ago

I went into Steam Play settings and chose 3.7-8, then went to LoK:SR properties and set Proton to 3.7-8. The game will still halt at the same spot as its panning around Elder God in the beginning of the game. The game still renders though, as the tentacle thing is still moving in the background.

Heres a log using Proton 4.11-10 and NVIDIA 440.44 proprietary.

Hello.

I played just 10-15 minutes. The gameplay itself seems ok, but cutscenes don't work - only sound can be heard. This is actually mentioned few times in https://www.protondb.com/app/224920 as well, some other reports there mention the cutscenes working though.

I tried to run the game via wine that I happen to have on my system and I've found that the cutscenes play fine. I've used the command below to run it that way.

WINEPREFIX=~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/224920/pfx wine kain2.exe
$ wine --version
wine-4.0.2 (Ubuntu 4.0.2-1)

I've tried several Proton version but neither of them was able to show the cutscenes. Let me know if I can assist you with fixing this issue.

Whitelist Request

System Information

I confirm:

Issues

The cutscene after clicking "Start A New Game" worked for me.

kisak-valve commented 4 years ago

Hello, is anyone seeing an issue with this game and Proton 5.0 that would block it from being whitelisted?

adrianlshaw commented 4 years ago

@kisak-valve Retested and works perfectly under 5.0-7 (NVIDIA) (specs). Everything including menus, cutscenes, CGI, gameplay

adrianlshaw commented 4 years ago

But i need to set the Screen Resolution, everytime.

@springwurm this seems like a game design issue rather than a Proton issue
