Looks like libgnutls problems indeed. Please retest with proton 3.16.
@zzhiyi Tried with latest Steam Beta Client (as of today) and Proton 3.16-6 Beta, nothing changed.
Here's the log: steam-265300.log
Just for the reference, GOG version of the game works fine. DRM issue is Steam specific.
same issue with 3.16-7 Beta
It's an issue with Steam version of the game, not with Wine or proton. It has some DRM junk that doesn't work in Wine. As above, use DRM-free version.
Tested with Proton 4.2-1: still not running.
Proton 4.2-3 tested no change in the result. steam-265300.log
Proton 4.2-4 tested today, new log, interesting line in the log
err:winediag:SECUR32_initNTLMSP ntlm_auth was not found or is outdated. Make sure that ntlm_auth >= 3.0.25 is in your path. Usually, you can find it in the winbind package of your distribution.

Not working with any Proton Version.
It's still not launching with Proton 5.13-1.

I can now confirm that Lords of the Fallen is working with Proton 5.13-4 & it runs at a consistent 60fps, no launch commands are necessary either, I've just played it for 2 hours without a single crash. :)
I haven't had the time to test the game in detail, but I can confirm that it now launches with Proton 5.13-4. However, the game doesn't close on exit, only minimizes the game window and I have to close it with the Stop button.

Since this is still open, adding my experience with Proton 8.0-104 (default). Started, ran, and closed without any issues. The only nit-pick is that you can't enable Nvidia Turbulence, but not sure anyone cares about that these days. Tested PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI, but that didn't do it.
Using Proton 3.7-3.
On launch, the game show a window with the message: "No information available" and buttons "Retry" and "OK". If I press "Retry" the window disappears then appears again, if I press "OK" the game stops.
I tried to launch the game also using
PROTON_NO_ESYNC
andPROTON_USE_WINED3D11
options: the results are the same.My PC specs: https://gist.github.com/ziabice/8c19008e58f82b16a62f7ab65ba235d4
