Compatibility Report

System Information

I confirm:

Symptoms

When running the game, the Origin installer runs, however after which it keeps a blank floating window open without the game itself running. Following a file integrity check, or reinstall, the same process happens again, origin installer works, etc.

To mitigate this, I have tried following what was suggested in protondb (adding "dxgi.customVendorId = 1c06" to a file dxvk.conf).

I have run proton with logs enabled and attached them here;

steam-1922560.log

Reproduction

Run the game with any version of steam.

Ea is planning on breaking linux support soon.

Log of their anticheat update breaking compatibility on the Steam Deck: steam-1922560 (GW2).log It also gives a wonderful window telling us Wine isn't supported, even if you use the HideWineExports registry trick :upside_down_face:

If the game still throws that error when you hide Wine, it is almost certainly doing other tricks (such as checking for Wine specific registry keys, programs [like winecfg], or drives)

Quite a lot of effort in blocking Wine that could have gone to making their anti-cheat more "effective."
