Lethal Company (1966720) Freezes in Fullscreen Unless Another Window Is on Top of It
Issue transferred from https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/7351. @SandFrog posted on 2023-12-15T03:27:17:
Proton Logs: Gist of proton when the game froze Gist of proton when the game didn't freeze
Having the game in focus causes the problem. The issue presents itself in full screen and windowed full screen mode. When I start the game up it'll freeze at the unity logo. However when I'm alt tabbed it'll load just fine until I tab back into the game. I've been able to get around this issue by starting up a video in Firefox and using the picture in picture feature. This workaround will solve the issue with any window that you can set to "always on top" in the WM. It works perfectly fine once I have some other window open on top of the game. Playing the game in windowed mode also solves this issue, however getting to the settings menu for someone opening the game for the first time would be difficult due to the issue.
Lethal Company (VR mod)
Issue transferred from https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/7457. @terminal-case posted on 2024-01-29T17:19:05:
The game runs just fine without the VR mod, but with it, like with some other Unity OpenXR-based games and mods, the game will not run. Specifically, I get a few frames of the "Made with Unity" startup screen showing in my headset, and then the headset crashes with error (-203) and the game freezes and must be force-exited.
Start up SteamVR and Index knuckle controllers, and attempt to launch Lethal Company modded through r2modman with only the LCVR mod and its one dependency active. steam-1966720.log vrcompositor.txt

Reproduction
1) Connect a controller to your PC 2) Start Lethal Company 3) Acquire an in-game item that needs to be activated with the left click (like trumpets, torches et similar) 3) click the button more than once
I found out that if you boot the game with a controller connected and decide to play with mouse and keyboard the game will accept a grand total of a single left click input while using an item. The left mouse click works completely fine for anything else.
I am using a new generation Xbox controller connected via USB-C - USB-A to my computer.
Just disconnect the controller and reboot the game to have it working normally.
