Trying to get a proton log, but now it's not launching for some reason

Steam says the game is "Running" but no window opens

okay, got it to launch again after killing some processes

4LT commented 9 months ago

Affects 8.0-5 RC as well

Update: works with the AMDGPU PRO driver

N00byKing commented 9 months ago

Proton Experimental, sway (Wayland), no issues at all running the game in a very quick test (Got in a match, shot around, quit). Had to leave soon after though.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, Mesa 23.2.1 on AMD Vega 56. So not AMDGPU PRO.

Okay, getting random crash-to-desktop now. I can usually play a round, but sometimes I get a crash I can't replicate.

~with the new playtest ,decided to give the game a go, and it's now crashing instantly on start up (not sure if it's an anti-cheat thing or not)~

~here's the proton log:~

steam-2708610.log.zip

~and the wine error pop up on crash:~

Edit: never mind, for some reason after rebooting pc this morning, it's suddenly started working again, not sure if the game or proton got an update, but it at least boots into the menus, will see if the AC has enabled proton support

@4LT Are you still having the crash issues described in your first post with newest RADV drivers?

4LT commented 8 months ago

@Blisto91 Not sure, I haven't been using RADV since I found the closed-source AMD driver is working. I'll have to wait for the next playtest before I can try again
