Symptoms

The game will not play in VR.

The game opens a window on the desktop, but the headset doesn't render the game. The SteamVR UI will let you 'resume' the game, but the button just closes the SteamVR window.

I am at least the 2nd person to report this issue.

Reproduction

Every time the game is run.

Yesterday I was able to successfully launch the game in VR, and I was able to complete a full run through without any apparent issues. Note that the game will only register in VR if proton experimental is used. The latest Proton 9 will not register the game in the headset. Whether SteamVR was Beta or Stable did not make a difference.
