Proton version: latest stable as of April 23rd 2024
I confirm:
[ X ] that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
[ X ] that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.
Symptoms
When Palia is played on a docked Steam Deck with the use of mouse and keyboard, the game begins to lag after about 10 minutes of playing. It goes from 60fps to a steady 20fps when using tools or the glider. When i stop using the tools or when I glide long enough, the FPS go back up to 60.
Whenever i activate a third-party controller and press a random button on it, the lag immediately disappears. The same happens when i press a random button on the Steam Deck itself. The lag however will come back after 10 minutes of playing without touching a controller.
Reproduction
This happens only with Palia and only when using mouse and keyboard.
It does not occur when I play handheld or docked with a controller.
To try and fix it i've even tried replacing the entire SSD and install a fresh SteamOS. This happened because i swapped my SSD with my wifes Steam Deck and the problem occurs there as well, so first I thought it was the SSD to only later find out its the mouse and keyboard combo. (My wife plays with a controller, so doesnt have this issue)
