In July 14, 2024 it's still not fixed yet.
The launcher is still not working. steam-16743876702945411072.log
What's taking so long?
It's September 23, 2024, the launch still won't work. Again, what's taking so long?
NCSofts launcher hasnt worked since Launcher2 was released (at least 7yrs ago), not to mention i believe Purple also includes the ability to run/vm their android games (or at least did in KR last i remember). Its not likely to be workable through wine/proton and wouldnt hold my breath that it will any time soon.
posting periodic "youre taking too long for me" comments isnt gonna help the situation.
EDIT: Im also not aware of any games on steam using nclauncher or purple so whats the priority for games that dont exist on steam?

NCLauncher2 runs just fine on Proton, not Purple Launcher.
Also and most importantly, If you're saying this ("youre taking too long for me" comments isnt gonna help the situation.) I'm not going to say anything about it, because that's not answering a question. I'm asking a question, not the situation, I wish VALVe fixes that problem. Purple launcher is based on Chrome and Google Chrome doesn't work on Proton like it used to anymore.
One last thing, I'm aware of lots of launchers because if not all works perfect, then gaming on Linux is failing (Due to lack of populations).
Luckily, Gameforge Client launcher works decently on Linux, and I can play AION through it. But, that's making people have to start over which it's unnecessary.

I (and many others) havent been able to get a single Nclauncher2 game to work on linux since NCLauncher2 became a thing and every one that uses NCLauncher2 in NA requires working around it or a version that doesnt use NCLauncher2. GW2 doesnt use it, Aion only uses(d) it for KR and NA, Lineage II afaik requires a launcher workaround. If you have a way to do it id love to know it, but afaik it plain doesnt work unless the game has aversion not using it.
Purple launcher isnt just a launcher its also a platform for running their android games (lineage M, The mobile BnS i.e) through a VM which is a tall ask for proton/wine and currently isnt possible. This may not prevent it from working at all but its a road block. That said a quick look at your proton log sees it seeming to throw similar errors to what ive seen NCLauncher2 throwing for years when run through wine. You might try using protontricks to install full .net instead of mono but ive been trying that a few time a year since 2020 for BnS with no success.
This still doesnt change that to my knowledge not a single NCSoft game on steam uses NCLauncher. You might want to perhaps do some testing with base Wine and try submitting a bug report there to see if anyone can look to fix it there.

Will I didn't know Purple launcher has mono files instead of .net files. But I need to see a YouTube video of that workaround so I can follow it and verify it to see that's successful. Also, I'm not getting a chance to see NCLauncher2 by now because NCSoft was pushing for its Purple Launcher. One last thing, people around Reddit are having a same problem with Purple Launcher. Signing off tonight.

Symptoms
It's just a non-steam app launcher that I want to make sure it's working, but the launcher through Proton Experimental with bleeding-edge won't work, which is a problem.
