Same issue on my side. Tested on Bazzite with various hardware configurations.
It's the same on Arch Linux with Nvidia RTX 4090. Tried different Wine/Proton versions, different drivers but it seems nothing helps.
Same issue on CachyOS (arch fork) with RX 6700 XT on Wayland
Using the latest Proton Experimental bleeding edge the game no longer crashes, and I'm able to get into gameplay. I will report back if I encounter any issues further into the game.
Including log of getting past the crash, getting into gameplay:

Yes, it's working with the latest GE-Proton9-13 as well.
GE 9-13 also works for me. On my secondary PC, it seems to run fine with a 6600 XT (although that GPU apparently is barely able to handle the game), but on my main PC with a 7900 XTX it crashes on certain cutscenes, which I believe are pre-rendered videos. Only happens with Mesa, with AMDVLK it's working fine so far.
@alex9k1 I have played through the game a couple of times now, and I did encounter some issues too. As far as I can tell cut-scenes in the game are real-time, except for the intro videos.
For me the system would randomly freeze on some of the more demanding cut-scenes, no way to recover having to force a reboot. On my setup with RX 7900 GRE I have noticed some instability with 6.10.x Kernels. Tried with older Kernel 6.8.5 and while the cut-scenes stuttered/hitched it did not crash.
I have experienced system freezes playing a couple other games as of late too. To me it seems there is some issue with recent Kernels at least on my setup (I have tried both mesa stable and git).
@AwesamLinux Most of the cutscenes are real time for sure, but one cutscene my PC kept crashing on looked a bit different (no FSR artifacts) and certainly wasn't 60fps despite MangoHud reporting 60, so my guess is, that it was prerendered.

Happened to me, too. A BIOS updated fixed that. No idea, why it would suddenly cause problems after ~2 years, but it did.
@alex9k1 Does it always crash in the same cutscenes for you, or is it random like for @AwesamLinux ? @AwesamLinux by your wording I take it that after it crashes with a cutscene, and you resume the game it will usually not crash again with the same video in that session. Could you give a rough estimate of how long it takes to crash for you? I haven't managed to reproduce the issue yet but it might be I haven't played enough, or enough in one sitting.
Things like graphic settings and framerate target could be factors. On my side, I saw 3 big slowdowns in the game that just went away after a few seconds: After climbing the ladder out of the sewer with the first character, when the second character wakes up in the plane, and at one point when the second characters runs into the guy in the mansion (linda was in the scene too). I thought these might lead to a hang but the framerate went back to normal and these were all in the same session so it doesn't seem like it was going to hang as a result of these.
@simifor Not sure on the first crash, as it also happened on a cutscene. After loading the savegame I was already beyond that cutscene. The next crash happened multiple times at the same cutscene and I couldn't get past it until I switched to AMDVLK. Finished the game by now using AMDVLK.
@alex9k1 Could you tell me about the cutscene that'd always crash? And, if possible, which decisions you took with that character in that run?
@simifor I'm not sure anymore, but I think it was this one: https://youtu.be/eQyVUUK5oFE?si=lyIZ8kkfib6_VQ7t&t=3030
These two scenes are good for spotting issues: Chapter 3 - A curiosity on Main Street - Scene: Storage Shed Chapter 14 - The Massacre at Gerant Manor - Scene: Curtain Call
Enable the alternative costumes after playing the game through once, because those cause more issues
Rendering Errors: Chapter 3 - A curiosity on Main Street - Scene: Storage Shed

Crashes/Freezes: Chapter 14 - The Massacre at Gerant Manor - Scene: Curtain Call Punch Stan > fail the QTE to rescue him > choose "back away" let Stan be "consumed" by Frank Stone
This scene often causes the game to freeze for a while, but seems you can usually recover just by Alt+Tabbing between desktop/game.
@simifor Frst time playing through the game it seemed random, as I could reload and get past the spots with issues. But with further testing I have identified a couple of scenes where you are most likely to see issues, see my comment above.
I have been playing with most graphic options on ultra, including raytracing enabled. XeSS and dynamic resolution enabled. This game has a lot of graphic options, so there is probably a lot of potential to get different experiences :stuck_out_tongue:
Just to add my report here, I played through the entirety of the game with one crash. No visible issues outside of that and the crash didn't occur again.
This was on latest version of bazzite-deck-gnome on a HTPC running a 5600X CPU and a 7600XT GPU. Performance was about what I expected. Overall it didn't interrupt our experience at all. This was using GE-Proton 9-13 (Which included the crashing fix from bleeding edge proton at the time)
@AwesamLinux sorry for my lack of reply, I haven't had the chance to test this again yet but did read your comments, I might be able to give it another go in a few days. Thank you for all the information you provided, but I'll have to ask more. You mention rendering issues, but it's not clear to me what the issue is, the backshirt? Maybe it's one of those things that's easier to tell in motion.
I would also appreciate it if you could attach your save data for the game.
@ULilBagel I'm guessing this was with mesa drivers.
