[HLDMS] Loading Singleplayer rather than Multiplayer #1207

Closed ghost closed 11 years ago

ghost commented 11 years ago

When loading a game in Half-Life Deathmatch Source it seems to be running Singleplayer rather than Mutliplayer. You are not able to change your spray or playermodel and when you load a server you do not see the normal "This Server is Protected by VAC." type deal, but instead you get a normal old singleplayer loading screen. You can also Co-op normally (I wish for you to also bring back the HL1 campaign for HLDMS because people always Co-op on that game) 360_screenshots_2013-09-13_00014 360_screenshots_2013-09-13_00013

How are you starting a game? If you use the console you must set maxplayers manually first.

ghost commented 11 years ago

@alfred-valve All of the max players are normal, it just that the game thinks it's singleplayer so it has the wrong loading screen and provides no options for player models and spray

alfred-valve commented 11 years ago

I cannot reproduce this, try validating your hl1mp install. I see the expected loading dialog (with the status text and progress bar) when loading a map.

ghost commented 11 years ago

@alfred-valve are you able to change your player model and spray or do you also have the difficulty settings?

alfred-valve commented 11 years ago

I have the correct multiplayer options UI, what I see above looks more like the HL:S UI. What app are you launching? Have you validated your install?

ghost commented 11 years ago

@alfred-valve I am validated my install at the moment, and I am launching up HLDMS's app.

ghost commented 11 years ago

@alfred-valve it still provides a Singleplayer GUI and also when launch server via console it launches a single player game instead of multiplayer

alfred-valve commented 11 years ago

Can you use the "Process Explorer" tool from Microsoft and capture the path and command line arguments you are launching the game with please.

ghost commented 11 years ago

@alfred-valve Could you please tell me how to do that?

alfred-valve commented 11 years ago

Download "Process Explorer" from Microsoft, pick "hl2.exe" from the process list, right click it and choose properties. Then pick the Image tab and path the path and command line pieces here.

ghost commented 11 years ago

Path: D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life 1 Source Deathmatch\hl2.exe Command Line: "D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life 1 Source Deathmatch\hl2.exe" -game hl1mp -steam

alfred-valve commented 11 years ago

Can you link the content_log.txt file from your \logs directory here. You are running the right thing...

alfred-valve commented 11 years ago

Ah ha, I can reproduce it, I'll work out what is going on.

ghost commented 11 years ago

Thanks, is there anyway I could get the .QC, .QCIs, and .SMD Animations for Half-Life Source player models to port over recon and the player models from Further Data?

alfred-valve commented 11 years ago

This is the wrong bug for that. When I have details on that I will post on its bug report.

ghost commented 11 years ago

@alfred-valve alrighty :)
