[Half-Life: Source Beta - Linux] Static enemies #1256

I noticed something strange with some enemies, they appear to stay in place and don´t come after me, this doesn´t happen with the Headcrabs but I experienced this with Houndeyes (they stay in place, when I shoot them they run in one direction then come back to the same place, if I approach them I am attacked, but if I stay in place staring at them they won´t come after me, as can be seen on the image attached) and Vortigaunts (it attacked me from the distance but it didn´t come after me).

I just started playing it and I experienced this in the first moments of the game, I will continue playing to see if it happens again and in other parts of the game.

This happens if you failed to opt Half-Life 2 into the beta before running Half-Life: Source.

But, as you can see by the attached image, this is not the case, right? captura de tela de 2013-09-16 19 27 20 So, what should I do? Unninstall HLS and install it again?

Try running Half-Life 2 and check it is updated. IF it is then run Half-Life: Source and type "version" into the console and paste the result here.

Reading your comments more closely this may also be by design, the houndeye's do stay at a distance for their attack.

Well, I ran Half-Life 2 and it is updated, here is the output of the command "version" from Half-Life: Source´s console: 2013-09-16_00002

It´s strange, because I remember from playing Half-Life (not the source version) that Houndeye chased the player and then, before attacking, it stays in place, could be possible that the beta update had some kind of problem?

I made a simple video showing GoldSrc and Source versions of the game, you can check the difference of Houndeye´s behavior, about Vortigaunts, I couldn´t reproduce the static bug, so I think it was a random thing. I made this video yesterday but due to a YouTube problem it took too long to process it, so it was online some time after yesterday´s patch (around 20 MB I think), I played it again after this patch and the only thing I could see fixed was that sequence (present in this video) where the Houndeye was supposed to jump from a red light room breaking the glass.
